As a Gwinnett County school, Cedar Hill Elementary is using
an educational software product from Pearson Education Technologies called
SuccessMaker Enterprise. Students at Cedar Hill are currently using this
software to develop and improve reading and mathematics skills.
The main courses being utilized are Reading Readiness (K), Initial Reading
(1-2), Reader’s Workshop (2-5), and Math Concepts and Skills (K-8). In
these courses, the program monitors each student’s performance and selects
appropriate instructional activities to fit the student’s needs. Additional
programs are available within SuccessMaker as well, depending on the student’s
grade level and ability.
We now have this program available for home use. Parents who are interested
in having their children use the SucccessMaker at Home program may pay
a one-time enrollment/user fee of $25.00. (Note: This is our actual cost
and is NOT a fundraiser.) This one time fee provides a set of software
(on loan for your use at home) and access via the Internet* to your child’s
SuccessMaker assignments.
A single enrollment/user fee covers any child in your family who is
enrolled at Cedar Hill Elementary School. Your family may access this account
as long as your child is enrolled in a Gwinnett County elementary school.

After enrollment in the SuccessMaker At Home program, your child will
be able to use the SuccessMaker program from your home. As a parent, you
will be able to view your child's performance from home. Your child's teacher
will also be able to monitor progress at home or at school.
If you have Internet* access in your home and wish to enroll your child
in the SuccessMaker at Home program, please complete this form and return
it to your child's teacher (or John Dalton) along with a check for $25.00,
payable to Cedar Hill Elementary School.
* Requirements:
~ Internet access with Internet Explorer Browser (included in the software
set)
~ Computer with Pentium II or higher Processor and minimum 64 MB RAM
~ CD ROM Drive (utilizes a set of CD's for coursework) or DVD Drive
(utlizes a single DVD for coursework)
~ The version of SuccessMaker currently in use by GCPS is NOT compatible
with the VISTA operating system.
